Logo design for My Dear Detective: Mitsuko's Case Files by Natsumi Ito. The series takes place in the 1930s Japan, with Western culture influencing Japanese society. With this in mind, I referred to a number of contemporary French posters to use for typographic reference. Eventually, we settled on this playfully uneven mark featuring a highly modified version of Daubenton from Velvetyne fonts.
Logo design for Natsume & Natsume by Shunsuke Sorato. This comic features two protagonists with the same name, so I chose to differentiate them by changing the script slightly for each name. The Japanese version of this series arranges the title vertically (reading top-to-bottom and right-to-left) so the additional challenge here was to present two uncommon names in what is essentially the "opposite" reading direction. The title itself was hand-drawn and refined in Illustrator.
Logo design for Crescent Moon Marching by Hamachi Yamada. The original Japanese logo appeared to be hand-drawn. so simply followed suit and hand-drew the logo myself in Illustrator.
